On July 28th of 2024 I posted my first post. So this is a little late, but I wasn’t sure how I was going to mark my one year anniversary. However, I don’t have a trail to post this week due to a hectic last few weeks.

With vehicle issues, camping, and working a convention, I’ve been pretty busy. And since my Facebook post on July 28th garnered no attention, I figured I would use this opportunity to post a few of my favorite pictures from the last year.

Key Features
Normally I use Googles Gemini to help me gather some key features of the trail. So I figured I would see what Google says about my website. But as the accuracy with most AI services are still a little iffy, Gemini gave me incorrect Key Features. Here are the accurate ones.
- Nature and Landscape Focus: The website is dedicated to showcasing photographs of the outdoors, with a specific emphasis on nature and scenic landscapes.
- Focus on Trails and Parks: The photographer’s work centers on images captured while exploring walking trails and state parks, as highlighted by a dedicated “City Trails and State Parks” section.
- Regularly Updated Gallery: New photographs are added on a regular basis to an “ever-growing gallery” for visitors to explore.
- Personal Blog: The site features a blog where the photographer shares details and experiences about the trails, parks, and destinations they visit.
- Journey Documentation: The content provides a portal to the photographer’s personal journey of exploring nature through a camera lens.
- Artistic Goal: The photographs are intended to “transport you to the heart of nature.”
- Detailed Navigation: The website is organized with clear navigation for “Gallery,” “Blog,” and “About” sections.
- Vibrant Imagery: The photography aims to capture “the vibrant hues of wildflowers in bloom” and other specific natural elements.
- Wildlife Inclusion: The gallery includes images of wildlife in their natural habitat.
- About the Photographer: The site includes a section to learn more about the photographer’s background and purpose.
Review

This first image was included in that first post. Two Green Herons facing off on a tree branch in Navarino Wildlife Area.

This sunset was taken near the boat house on Rock Island. We camped on the island with our kids and my brother-in-laws family.

As we started to find different places to hike, my wife found Terrell’s Island. I didn’t even know I had caught this picture until after I looked through my pictures later.

This little chickadee was photographed on our annual camping trip to Lake Antoine MI. The two pictures at the top of this post were taken there this year.

This trio was catching fish washed through one of the dams on the Hydroelectric Heritage Trail.

This Great Blue Heron silhouette was captured at Fritse Park on the Loop the Little Lake trail. My wife received a puzzle from my merch site for Christmas.

This swift little Barn Swallow was picking bugs of the top of the Fox River. I have a print of this photo in my living room. This is a trail linking Peirce Alicia and Lutz Parks in Appleton WI. Read about it here.

We encountered this wolf print on the Newton Blackmour Trail. This also happened to be one of our longer hikes at about nine and a half miles.

This bobber was left by someone at Lakeside Park in Fond Du Lac WI. I took this picture the same day I found out that I had been laid off from my job at Fleet Farm. I’ve since gotten a new job, however for a time I thought I might make money from my photos.

This tuft of feathers was found on the snow near the Red Bird Trail in High Cliff State Park. This January hike was a cold one.

This tree swallow posed for me nicely on the Apple Creek Trail. Swallows are my favorite bird due to their speed and agility in the air. Its always a good hike when I can snap a pictures of these quick avains.

This Northern Flicker was the first time I had seen this bird before. We encountered it at another new to me nature preserve Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve.

I post a lot of close up pictures of flowers in addition to animals and trail shots. This Trillium was photographed at Logan Creek Natural Area in Door County WI.

This light baby Killdeer was walking on top of the grass at Ledgeview Park. Our youngest daughter joined us to go hiking at a different park. However the Memorial Day parades forced us to choose Ledgeview.

While this is not a complete list of the trails I’ve walked for this blog. These are some of my favorite photos.

Thank you for being here for this first year. And please continue enjoying the posts as my wife and I continue hiking through out this new year.
Also please visit my merch site where you can get prints and other products like this sticker template with my pictures on them.

Congratulations on your first year!!! Keep it going!
I cannot believe we have hike this much over the last year. Good job to us!
